Obituary for Adeline E. Knodel
Everyone called her “Addie” – except for her family. She was everyone’s friend. She never met a stranger and was a willing listener for all.
Addie was born in San Antonio, Texas in February 25, 1941 - Her parents were Louise and Arno Knodel. Her Daddy was a bus driver and her Mother was an educator. Her brother, Arno Knodel, Jr. predeceased her.
Addie was a teacher of music. She taught in Baytown, Texas and in the U.S. military school system in Subic Bay, Philippines; Heildburg, Germany; and Ipswich, England. Addie decided to (get out of education) change careers after getting her Masters degree in counseling. She then pursued counseling, real estate, timeshare sales, and auto sales.
She met her life partner, Cindy Howard, in England. When they returned to the U.S., they settled first in North Carolina and then in Florida. They spent many summers travelling the East coast by boat or RV, especially to see family, friends, and relatives. After living on the boat for 4 years, they moved to Oviedo, Fl. Hurricane Charlie did a number on their house and in 2006 they moved into their new home. Addie loved this home and often spoke of what a “very fine house this was”.
After almost 43 years together, the Lord called Addie to join her family and friends in heaven. Addie went to the Lord on April 27, 2018 – she was 77 years young!
