Obituary for Anita Julia Princiotta
Anita Julia Princiotta, 89, of Winter Springs, passed away on May 5th , 2022. She was a one-of-a-kind, proud, old school Italian woman and wore her heritage proudly. Anita was born In New York City on July 31, 1932, to Vincent and Antonette Verderosa. She was one of 11 children and raised in the Bronx. When she was 17, she graduated High School with her Cosmetology License. She worked in various salons and eventually became a teacher of Cosmetology, to help the next generation. In 1949 she met Charles Princiotta, the love of her life, and they married on September 1st , 1951, they were together for 60 years until the time of his death in 2009. She gave birth to 3 beautiful girls, Mary Ann, Anita and Jeanette. While raising her daughters, she attended evening classes at the College of New Rochelle and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 1978. She also attended courses at Cornell University. She wrote a poem called “Love” that was published by the National Library of Poetry. She worked for the New York City Police Department and was the first class of civilian Police Administrative Aides (POA). She was proud to work for the NYPD and retired in 1988. Following her retirement, she moved to Florida, where she utilized her teaching degree. She became a Substitute Teacher for Seminole County Public Schools. Known by her students as Mrs. P, she worked primarily at Indian Trails Middle School, Jackson Heights Middle School, and Winter Springs High School. She enjoyed the interaction with the students and sharing her life experiences with them. She loved helping others, so she donated her time to St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, regularly working Bingo during the annual Spring Fest. As an active member of the parish, she sang in the Choir for 32 years. She was a part of the St Stephens Women’s Club and Tuskawilla Woman’s Club. She was
instrumental in the creation of the Winter Springs Senior Center and supported many of their events. One particular favorite was the creation of the floats for the Annual Winter Springs Christmas Parade. She loved playing Bingo with her friends at the WS Senior Center. She enjoyed playing the slots at the Hard Rock Casino with her daughters. She had the best stories and loved to tell jokes. She always had a positive attitude and wanted to make people smile. She was a very thoughtful person and would always send cards to people for their birthdays or celebrations. She was gifted with the talent of song: she loved to sing and perform. She was devoted to her family and loved to cook Sunday dinners. She was very active in her grandchildren’s lives, and they were blessed to have her. Anita wore many hats and was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandma, godmother, and
friend, who will be greatly missed by all.

She was predeceased in death by her parents Vincent and Antonette Verderosa, 7 siblings, Loving Husband Charles Princiotta, Daughter Jeanette Siatkowski.

She left behind, her two daughters Mary Ann Sciarini, Anita Marie Scheraldi (Michael), 4 Grandchildren Christina Owens (William), Joseph Serrano, Anita “Gina” Cellucci (Claudio), Michael Charles Scheraldi, 3 Sisters Mildred, Jeanette, and Angela, as well as many Nieces, Nephews, and Godchildren.
