Obituary for Anita Marie D'Abato
On Thursday, July 8, 2021, Anita D’Abato, loving wife and mother of seven children, passed away at the age of 99. Anita was born on March 11, 1922 in Van Buren, ME to Raymond and Severine (DesJardins) Bouchard. She was the youngest of 11 children. She was Catholic and as a child growing up spent much of her time assisting the nuns at the local convent. Anita left high school to marry Fernand Dufour. Together they raised four sons, Lloyd, Rodney, Allen, Douglas, and two daughters, Barbara and Pamela. She later divorced to marry Ernest D’Abato, the love of her life. They raised one daughter, Denise.
Anita spent her life being a devoted mother to her seven children. She was always ready to assist family, friends and neighbors. She was known for her hard work, quick wit, and strong hugs.
Anita was preceded in death by her first husband, Fernand, her second husband, Ernest, two sons, Rodney and Lloyd, granddaughter, Michele, and grandson, David. She is survived by her children, Allen, Douglas, Barbara, Pamela, Denise, her 13 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Community at 575 Tuskawilla Rd, Winter Springs, FL 32708 at 10am. Flowers may be sent to St. Stephens’s for the mass or a donation may be made to an Alzheimer’s or Dementia Foundation of your choice.
