It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Catherine Przybyszewski (West), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who peacefully left this world on September 10, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by her family.
She will be remembered by her devoted husband of 67 years, Robert, her daughter Anne Curry, and son-in-law, James. She was a proud grandmother to Nicole (Jacob) and Brian. She is also survived by her sister, Marie Watson. She was predeceased by her loving son, Robert, and her parents, Lawrence and Ethel Smith.
Anna was born on January 12, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Lawrence and Ethel Smith. She was the youngest of three siblings. Growing up as a child, Anna loved playing outside, rolling up the living room carpet and dancing to the radio, and helping her mom take care of the house. In high school, Anna spent her time cheerleading, participating in cooking classes, and attending school dances. She graduated from Bok High School in 1956. Anna met the love of her life, Robert Przybyszewski, at the age of 14. They were engaged on December 24, 1956, and they were married on October 5, 1957. In their 67 years, Robert and Anna had many adventures together. They took pleasure in going to casinos and amusement parks, dancing to their favorite bands, and walking the boards of Wildwood, New Jersey. They spent a lot of time on the road traveling to places such as Florida, the Grand Canyon, New Orleans, and Niagara Falls, where they spent their honeymoon. Many of their travels included stops at Notre Dame Fighting Irish football games and trips to Walt Disney World with their family. In her later years, Anna took pleasure in watching ice skating and the TV show, Days of Our Lives. She also enjoyed car rides, walking, shopping, and cooking dinner for her family.
Throughout Anna's life she had many roles, but her most important role was being a loving and devout mother. In her early years, she worked as a clerk at Penn Mutual Life Insurance. In December 1959, her first child, Robert Joseph, was born and followed shortly after by their daughter, Anne Marie, in August 1963. As a family, they enjoyed trips to Dorney and Hershey Park, as well as ice skating at Silver Lake Park. Despite not being fond of water, Anna would spend her summers with her family watching them swim in their pool and they were even members of the Somerton Swim Club. They took many family vacations to Wildwood, New Jersey, where they would play arcade games and enjoy amusement rides. Once Robert and Anne were born, Anna spent her time volunteering at St. Anselm’s School and working at Archbishop Ryan High School and Our Lady of Calvary School. She was an active member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Vice President of the Band Parent Association, and Girl Scout troop leader. She dedicated her life to supporting her children’s passions. Once her grandchildren were born in 1994 and 1998, she focused on her new role of supporting Nicole and Brian as their ‘Mom-Mom’. If there was an important moment in their lives, she was there for it. She cherished her family and never missed a birthday, dance recital, soccer game, or school award ceremony. Mom-Mom attended every event beaming with joy and constantly showing how proud she was of her grandbabies.
