Obituary for Arthur G. Fuller

Arthur George Fuller passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Advent Hospital Hospice in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 87. He was born on October 26, 1937, in Litchfield,

Illinois, to Mildred Mae Fuller, née Lamb, and Reverend Edward Lucious Fuller.

George, as he was known to family and friends, grew up in Aurora, Illinois. He

graduated from East Aurora High School in 1955 and was recognized as a Distinguished

Alumni in 2011. George served in the United States Air Force as a radio operator for

four years, from 1960 to 1964, and spent an additional two years in the reserves. He

was honorably discharged on October 13, 1966.

On July 17, 1965, he married Dorothy Fuller, née Grissette, and became the father of

three daughters: Kim, Denise, and Belinda. Together, George and Dorothy later had

three more children: Gail, Marc, and Christopher. While working full-time and raising

his family, he put himself through school, graduating from Aurora University in 1970.

In November 1964, George began his career at Western Electric, a subsidiary of AT&T.

He continued to work for AT&T until his retirement on June 30, 1994. His job required

him and his family to relocate from Illinois to Colorado, then to New Jersey, and finally

to Orlando, Florida, in 1989. After retiring, George became involved in mentoring

students through the nonprofit organization COMPACT. He eventually served as the

Executive Director of COMPACT from 1994 to 2015, positively impacting the lives of

hundreds of students in Orange County.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Kim Bagnerise; and his

grandson, Willie Brown; his brothers, Edward Jr. (Sonny) and Ellison (Brother); his

sisters, Mildred (Sis) Williams, Emily Gibson, and Eddie Mae Laurant.

He is survived by his children: Denise Bagnerise of Winter Garden, FL; Belinda

Bagnerise of Everett, WA; Gail Fuller of Winter Garden, FL; Marc Fuller of Portland, OR;

and Christopher Fuller of Los Angeles, CA. Additionally, he is survived by four

grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in their father’s name to Easterseals Florida at https://www.easterseals.com/florida/. The Easterseals Day Break program at the Miller Center in Orlando, Florida, held a special significance for George, and his children are eternally grateful to the staff and the friends he made along the way at the adult daycare.
