With hearts full of love and deep sorrow, we share the passing of Barbara Tanturri, a fun-loving, devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She left this world far too soon, but her spirit, laughter, and the memories she created will forever remain in the memories of those who loved her.
Born and raised in Merrick, NY, Barbara, grew up with her beloved parents, Joan Patricia and Allen Bernard (“Jim”) Anania, and her siblings Monica and James. She remained in Merrick until 1991, when she moved to Florida and began the next chapter of her life.
Family was the heart of everything she did. As the proud mother of her only son, Nicholas, she had a gift for making every moment special—whether it was birthdays, treasured keepsakes, or little traditions that became cherished memories. Later, becoming a grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life. Lucas River and Juliette Winter were her brightest lights, and nothing made her happier than hearing them say, “I love you, Grandma.” She was also a proud aunt to Emeline, James, Samuel, and Grace, and mama to her faithful fur baby, Molly.
For more than 12 years, Barbara, was the dedicated Office Administrator at Remax 200 Realty. She wasn’t just an employee—she was a cornerstone of the office, a steady presence who brought joy, laughter, and warmth to her colleagues. Her ability to connect with people and lift them up made her a treasured part of both her work and her community.
Those who knew her will remember her adventurous spirit, her great sense of humor, and her contagious smile and laugh that could light up any room. As a little girl, she was always leading her sister Monica into mischief—especially when it came to snooping for hidden Christmas presents. She was a “Daddy’s Girl” through and through, sharing an extraordinary bond with her father that stayed with her always.
She loved the simple joys of life—days at the beach, soaking in the sun and the water, listening to music, and going to concerts. She made friends everywhere she went.
We thought we had decades left with her. She was looking forward to retiring next year and moving closer to her family, ready to spend her days with her grandchildren who adored her endlessly. Her sudden absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her love, laughter, and the countless memories she created will carry us through.
Above all, Barbara will be remembered as a devoted mother, the best friend a sister could ever ask for, and a special, irreplaceable part of our family. She gave her love, came to know Jesus and left behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and family bonds that will never fade.
