Daniel Klaus Jr., 60, of Winter Springs, passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2023, after a short battle with cancer.
Dan was born September 10, 1963, to parents Daniel and Leila Klaus in South Carolina. He was the oldest of five children. The family eventually moved to Monroe, New York where Dan grew up and attended school. After graduating from Monroe High School (1981) he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served 13 years.
In 1985 Dan married Kimberly Sherman-Klaus in California; together they raised three sons, Joshua William, Daniel III, and Peter Jedidiah.
After leaving the Air Force, Dan went to work for his father at Intec Precision in Florida, New York until his father’s death in 2005. The family then moved to Winter Springs, Florida where Dan began working for Cubic. Dan retired from Cubic in 2021 and spent his retirement with his beloved children and grandchildren. He was a tinkerer, gardener, bicycle enthusiast, history buff and cook. Dan was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. A truly kind and generous man.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Klaus, and son, Joshua Klaus.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kim, sons Daniel III and Peter, (Jamie), mother, Leila Klaus, and brothers, Keith Klaus (Heather), Chris Klaus (Marissa), Scott Klaus, and sister Deborah Hauser (Eddie). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Beau, Zeus, Wyatt, and Rhett.
His cheerful spirit and loving personality will be sorely missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at Banfield Funeral Home - 420 West State Road 434 Winter Springs, Florida on Sunday, December 17th, 2023, at 1:00 P.M.
Burial will follow at All Faiths Memorial Park -1390 Park Drive- Casselberry, Florida 32707
