1945 – 2018

Donna Mae Varitek (72) of Longwood, FL died peacefully in her home on Wednesday March 28, 2018. She was born on August 10, 1945 in East Detroit, MI to Rose Morosini and the late Arthur Morosini.

On August 20, 1966, she was united in marriage to Joseph Edward Varitek in Detroit, MI. They lived in Roseville and Romeo, MI giving birth to four sons. The family moved to Longwood, FL in 1979 where she lived until moving to Groveland, FL in August of 2017.

Donna was a devoted mother and grandmother who lived for her family. She was intelligent and creative. She had a passion for sewing and crafts, looming, puzzles, board games, and baseball (Go Sox!). Donna was able to visit over 24 major league ballparks with her husband prior to his departure. ‘Momma V’ always extended an open door and had the gracious heart to welcome all. She will always be remembered for her willingness to help others and to never say “no” to anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew her.

Surviving are their four sons: Joseph (Cheri), Jason (Catherine), Jared (Kristy), and Justin (Lynna); nine granddaughters: Ally, Kendall, Jessica, Caroline, Lanie, Lila, Liv, Hartley, and Harper; sister Sandy Olzcak; brother Ken Morosini; and mother Rose Morosini.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 6, at Annunciation Catholic Church.
