Obituary for Dorothy J. Holton
Dorothy Joann Holton, 84 of Apopka, Florida went home to be with the Lord Sunday July 26, 2020.
Dorothy Joann Holton was born on November 5, 1935 in Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up in East Hampton Long Island, New York where her father was the Coast Guard Commander of Montauk Point and Fire Island. She moved to St Petersburg, Florida in 1949 where she attended St Pete High School. After graduation Dorothy was one of the first employees for St Pete Federal. Dorothy meet Donald and got married in Gulfport, Florida on June 1, 1954. One of their first moves was to Hickam Air Force base in Honolulu, Hawaii before Hawaii became a state. Dorothy was a devoted military wife and mother, she kept things together when Don was stationed away from home. Dorothy was a breast cancer survivor and retired from UPS.
Dorothy was preceded by her parents Joel A. and Catherine T. Osterberg; brothers, Richard Osterberg, George Osterberg, Robert Osterberg Sr; sisters, Evelyn Osterberg St. Laurent, Catherine Kelsey Osterberg Richard, Betty Nolan and son, Donald Ray Holton Jr. Dorothy is survived by husband Donald Ray Holton Sr; children, Stephen Dale Holton, Cheryl Ann DeRogatis; grandchildren, Donald Ray Holton III, Anthony DeRogatis Jr, Alissa Kaitlyn Holton: great grandchild, Jeremy Holton.
Funeral service will be held at Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church, August 12, 2020 at 10:00 am. Pastor Scott Carlson Officiant
