Obituary for Dr. Richard F. Weddleton
Dr. Richard F. Weddleton, 73, beloved husband of 51 years of Jeanne M. (Delaney) Weddleton and devoted father of Richard F. Weddleton, Jr., Michelle M. (Timothy) Bateman and Lisa W. (Paul) Krasa and proud grandfather of James and Marcus Krasa passed away gently in the arms of his family on August 2, 2013, at his home in Winter Springs, FL. Dick was born in Boston, MA, the son of the late Charles William Weddleton and the late Cecelia (Costello) Weddleton. He was a chemist, inventor and author, working most recently as an Advisory Engineer and Consultant for Siemens-Westinghouse. Dr. Weddleton graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his Ph.D in chemistry from Indiana University. His surviving siblings are Joan (Weddleton) Carney of Milton, MA, and William Weddleton of The Villages, FL. Siblings who preceded him in death are Kathleen, Charles Jr., and Robert of Boston. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Father John J. Bluett as Celebrant. Internment will follow at All Faiths Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, August 5, 2013 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Comforter, 595 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714.
