Elena Amelia Shaw
• Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, and Friend.
• Born December 11, 1915---Died March 23, 2019
• She was 103 and still singing her Italian songs till death
• She graduated from Lyman High School in Longwood FL
• There she met and married her high school sweetheart, Garland Henry Shaw
• They were married 49 years
• Two daughters, Janet Hallbeck, deceased, Melanie Posey of Port Orange FL
• Two sons, Charles Shaw of Winter Springs FL and Michael Shaw of San Marcos TX
• She has 10 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren
• She also has many nieces and nephews
Elena was active in all activities, PTA, Girl Scouts, Longwood Garden Club (where she often won the yard of the month award), Librarian, Longwood Civic Club and her many Church activities. She worked several jobs from Fruit Packer in California, waitress at the Longwood Hotel, sales clerk at Moons Dry Goods and JC Penney, but mostly a stay at home Mom. She never said anything bad. She only saw the good in everyone, she always had an excuse if anyone did wrong, even strangers. She babysat and helped us with all we needed. Her home was always open to her family to stay. She was the one who held us together. She truly loved everyone for her entire life. She loved the Beach and spent many family vacations there for over 25 years. She made the best of what she had. She kept her home lovely, sent two boys to college and supported all her children in every way she could. She was a very smart and intelligent woman. She was truly a Sweet Southern Lady who cared about her family above all, she touched our lives continually with all her love.
Funeral Services will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church
