Obituary for Elizabeth J. Hulke
Elizabeth Jane Hulke, 96, of Longwood, died on September 27, 2021 at Village on the Green, Longwood, FL. Elizabeth was born March 25, 1925, in Morton, Illinois, the daughter of Daniel and Anna (Wiegand) Kaufman. Elizabeth graduated in 1946 from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois, and spent many years working as a nurse while raising her family, retiring in 1990. Elizabeth was a devoted and much beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a rare and special woman of intelligence, joy, laughter, loyalty, and love… always the love. Elizabeth was an inspiration in the lives of her family and friends, who will always carry her memory in their hearts.
Elizabeth married her husband, Delbert W. Hulke, on January 4, 1947. She is survived by her three sons, Steven D. Hulke (Anne-deceased) of Victoria, MN, Stuart A. (Barbara) Hulke of Hobe Sound, FL, and Scott E. (Deborah) Hulke of Deland, FL; seven grandchildren, Scott (Laura), Kristin (Rob) Harper, Katherine (Will) Waugh, Stuart (Jill), Stephanie (Matt) Batbouta, Emily (Tom) Dillard, and Sarah (Arif); and eighteen great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Ryan Hulke, Riley, Robbie, and Finley Harper, Maggie and Gavin Waugh, Jackson, Luke, David, Joshua, Hannah, and Abigail Dillard, Georgia Hulke, Owen, Benjamin and Harper Batbouta; two brothers, Clifford and William Kaufman; one sister, Elsie Mae Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; her parents; her granddaughter, Christine; two sisters, Gladys and Mary Ann; and two brothers, Daniel and Robert.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, October 8, at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, IL. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
