Obituary for Elmer Wayne Heaps
My beloved husband of 33 years departed this earthy bond early Saturday November 24th, 2018 and will now spend his eternity with our savior, Jesus Christ.
Wayne was born in Canonsburg PA. on May 9th, 1937. Wayne was the first of four boys born to Elmer Heaps and Ida Weston. After attending school Wayne proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at Parris Island, S.C. He proudly and professionally served for 3 years. After finishing his tour of duty Wayne began his employment with Lockheed Martin defense company in Orlando, Fl. Wayne continued his employment at Lockheed for 41 years in Florida where he spent the majority of his life.
Wayne settled in the beautiful town of Geneva, Fl. in the late 90’s. During his time in Geneva he spent time at the Geneva Civic Center where he became the “famous” hamburger chef for the Country & Gospel musical jam held every 3rd Saturday for 15 years. He enjoyed much of his 18 years of retirement in Geneva living the life of a Country Gentleman.
Wayne leaves behind his wife Louise Heaps, 3 children, 3 step-children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Wayne was a devoted Catholic who had a deep love for God, and appreciation for Gods blessings and his family. Wayne will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends and wife Louise. Rest in Gods peace my love till I see you again in heaven.
