Obituary for Gayle Miglietta
On Sunday morning September 6, 2020; Gayle Lyn Miglietta, age 71, of Sanford, Florida went with the Lord to heaven to start a new journey and be with her mother, father, son and friends. She passed peacefully at her home after a brief illness and was surrounded by her family. Born in Meriden, Connecticut to Salvatore and Mary Lou Bordonaro, Gayle was a cherished wife, mother, sister, daughter, cousin, and friend. As a child, her family spent summers at the beach on the Connecticut shore. She moved to Central Florida with her family to enjoy the sunshine and was a resident for over 20 years.

Gayle is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Arthur Miglietta and son Steven Miglietta (Stephanie). She was preceded in death by her son David, brother David Bordonaro, parents Salvatore and Mary Lou Bordonaro, and dog Missy.

Gayle graduated from Platt High School with honors and was a member of the school newspaper. She and her husband enjoyed entertaining and hosted many holiday parties with family and friends over the years. She enjoyed photography and was passionate about capturing family gatherings and special moments. She was an avid dog lover and her beloved Bichon Frise, Missy, was also the feature in many of her photos. She loved cooking and was always eager to try new recipes. Her prized Christmas lasagna recipe is one that has been a family favorite for many years. St. Patrick’s Day was one of her favorite holidays and it was fitting that her birthday was on such a celebrated day by all. Some of her favorite bands were the Beatles and Beach Boys. She was happy to attend live concerts by Paul McCartney and Fleetwood Mac here in Orlando.

Her favorite travel destinations included many scenic locations and beaches in the Northeast. Some of her favorites were York Beach, Maine; Newport, Rhode Island; the Catskill Mountains, New York; Lake George, New York and Cape Cod. Internationally, she traveled Montreal, the Bahamas, and enjoyed several cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Here in Florida she enjoyed going to Disney and to the west coast beaches in Clearwater and Naples.

In her later years, she discovered Facebook and social media as a means of connecting with other dog lovers. She started her own page, first with photos of dogs. That also evolved into a page with inspirational landscapes. She had friends and followers at home and abroad. Many mornings she would have “coffee with friends” around the world online.

Throughout her life Gayle put family first. She was always there when her family needed her and she made sure that her loved ones were taken care of through life’s ups and downs.
Gayle was a caring person who easily made friends. Her quick wit and great sense of humor were enjoyed by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we know she will be with us always.

A private service is being held at Banfield Funeral Home in Winter Springs, Florida.
