George Kenneth Acker, 66, of Winter Springs, FL, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Florida Hospital Orlando in Orlando, FL. Mr. Acker was born October 16, 1942 in Columbus, MI. He was a retired truck salesman and was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. He served during the Vietnam Era with the US Army. He was the son of the late George Acker and the late Mary Acker. He is survived by his wife: Mary Beth Acker, Daughter: Margaret M. Athridge, Sons: Roderick M. Acker, Charles M. Acker, Sister: Beverly Webb, Brother: Thomas Acker. Arrangements are being handled by Banfield Funeral Home, 420 W. State Road 434, Winter Springs, FL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, November 21, 2008. Funeral service will be at St. Stephen Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2008 with Father George Dunne, s.s.s. as Celebrant. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
