Obituary for Gerald (Gerry) S. Rogers
Gerald (Gerry) S. Rogers of Winter Springs passed away Friday, May 15th; he was 92. Gerry was a WWII veteran, US Navy Chief, and Master Electrician. He was retired from the US Navy and the NY/NJ Port Authority where he worked on the former World Trade Center towers and many of the New York airports, tunnels, and bridges. He was a life-time member of VFW Post 5405 and former Chaplin of American Legion Post 19. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; children Matthew, Michael, Deborah, Kevin, Clifford, grandchildren Shannon, Christopher, Meredith, Brendan, Colleen, Justin, Caleb, Adam, Rachel, Nicole, & Kristen; and great-grandchildren Scarlet, Harper, Lily, Tate, Gilligan, & Vivian. Visitation will be at Banfield’s on Sunday May 24th from 3-6pm, with a prayer service at 5pm and military honors at 5:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be at St Augustine’s Catholic Church in Casselberry on Monday, May 25th at 10:30am. Interment will be in New York.
