Obituary for Geraldine (Geri) Gibson
Mrs. Geraldine (Geri) Gibson, age 87, of Sanford, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, June 23, 2020, at Central Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 15, 1933, in Flint, Michigan, to Geneva Gunderson and Virgal Nations.
She was a Priesthood member of Community of Christ Church, in Winter Park, FL. She was a homemaker, Legal Secretary, and Judicial Assistant.
She enjoyed shopping, having her nails and hair done, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. She took dance lessons, sowed clothing, and taught Sunday school classes.
Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020, via a virtual zoom meeting (please email GeriLifeCelebration@gmail.com for details). An additional memorial service is to follow with spreading of the ashes at the Community of Christ Church, located at 1006 Clay St., Winter Park, FL, 32789 at a later date.
She was a supportive sister to Glenna Radis.
She was loving and caring to her two children David, and Rebecca (Becky) and an Aunt to Julie, Russell, and Steve.
She was a loving Grandmother to Amanda, Jessica, and Michael, and Great-Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was a wonderfully devoted Great-Grandmother to Bradley.
She was a devoted Christian, who spent her retirement time, actively volunteering at the Community of Christ Church, in Winter Park, FL.
She led by example. There was never a job too large or too small that she would not tackle.
She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. We will miss her every day.
