Obituary for Gerry M. Marino

Gerry Marino, a devoted father, grandfather, and cherished member of his community, left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, and lovingly adopted at the age of three by Gennaro and Helen, Gerry always expressed deep gratitude for the life of service, dedication, and love they provided him. This profound appreciation for his parents shaped his journey, inspiring a life rich with giving, connection, and compassion.

A respected member of his community, Gerry's commitment to service was evident through his active involvement with the Winter Springs Rotary Club, Oviedo/Winter Springs Chamber, Winter Park Chamber, his parish - Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, were he served as a sacristan, contributions to Leadership Seminole, and his participation in the Winter Springs and Winter Park Autumn Art Festivals. He was a proud retired veteran serving in both the United States Marine Corps and Army Reserves and loved celebrating the Marnie Corps’ birthday each year. His unwavering volunteer spirit was a testament to his belief in the importance of community engagement and support.

Gerry's work in home repair and remodeling directly reflected his commitment to helping others. Known for his readiness to lend a hand and his problem-solving skills, he became an invaluable member of his community. Each project was more than just a job; it was a gesture of meaningful support. Friends and family always knew they could count on him, as he was ever-prepared with the right tools and the willingness to make things right.

Gerry was preceded in death by his wife, Karen. He leaves behind a loving family, including his children, Jessica and her husband Andrew Meyer, Emily and her husband Todd Mont, and Tyler; along with his grandchildren, Benjamin and Molly Meyer.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 23rd from 4-7 p.m. at Banfield Funeral Home, 420 FL-434, Winter Springs, FL 32708. A funeral service will be on Saturday, February 24th at 1 p.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 5300 Old Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL 32792.
