H. James Potter, (74), of Freeport, Pennsylvania, who resided in Winter Springs, FL, passed away on March 3, 2023, surrounded by family.
James was born to Harry and Kathleen Potter, on December 28, 1948, in Freeport, Pennsylvania. He was a talented athlete who loved playing baseball and received a full-ride baseball scholarship for his position as catcher to Marietta College. After graduating, Jim was commissioned as Second Lieutenant after completing OCS at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served four years in a military intelligence unit stationed at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. After serving in the military, Jim ventured into his long-term career of medical device sales until his retirement.
Jim is survived by his wife, Susan and four children, Erin, Brian, Stacey and Kelly.
Aside for his love for baseball, Jim was passionate about giving back to the Humane Society, St. Jude’s Hospital and being involved as much as possible in his children’s lives. Jim had a sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling within the U.S. and outside the country with his wife and children, including Italy, England, and France. He liked to remain active through golfing, bowling, swimming, and was always considered the ‘life of the party’. He will be dearly missed.
