Obituary for Hazel G. Dalton

Hazel Geraldine (Beasley) Dalton, 96, of Lake Mary, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Geraldine (Jerry) was born on April 16, 1927 to Melvin Beasley & Geneva Draughn in High Point, North Carolina.

Jerry met the love of her life, Joe Dalton Sr. in 1942 at church. They were soon inseparable and remained that way their whole life together. They were married on January, 31, 1943, and faced life holding hands for the next 80 years.

Jerry and Joe couldn’t wait to start a family of their own, and her children meant the world to her. Joe Dalton Jr. was born in 1943 and Roger Dalton was born in 1945.

Jerry spent 30 years in her career at Sears department store. A job she was truly passionate about for decades.

Jerry was an active member of Trinity Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. A wonderful Christian lady, she loved serving as a Christian woman at church and home.

A true lady from the south, Jerry enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook. She was kind to everyone she met, and loved her family with all her heart.

She lived most of her life in Greensboro, North Carolina and surrounding area. Moving only to Florida in 2005 to be closer to family.

Jerry was predeceased by Melvin Beasley (Father), Geneva Draughn (Mother), and Ruth Beasley (Sister). She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Dalton Sr., her children, Joe Dalton Jr. (Jennifer), Roger Dalton (Marylyn), her sister, Melva Lain (David), her brother, Bobby Beasley, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.

Macular degeneration took her sight but we are convinced that she is seeing Jesus in all his glory now. We will hold her close in our hearts forever.

A private funeral (family only) will be held in the coming days.
