With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Hector Manuel Garcia Negron, lovingly known to family and friends as Tito, at the age of 75.
Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Tito spent his life in the place he proudly called home. A life of service defined him. Whether serving his country in the United States Army, protecting his community as a Captain in the Puerto Rico Police Department, caring for his family, or living out his faith in God, he led with humility, compassion, and unwavering dedication.
A man of deep faith, Tito loved God and lived his life guided by Christian values. His faith was the foundation of the way he treated others, with kindness, humility, forgiveness, and compassion. He found strength and peace in his relationship with the Lord, and those who knew him witnessed his faith not only through his words, but through the way he lived each day.
For nearly 50 years, Tito shared a beautiful marriage with the love of his life, Betty Rivera. Together they built a family centered on love, loyalty, and unwavering support. He was a devoted husband and a proud father to his two sons. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family, especially celebrating life’s milestones and making memories with his two beloved granddaughters.
Tito had a gift for making people smile. Jovial, kindhearted, and quick with a joke, he could brighten any room with his sense of humor and warm personality. He was the person who showed up for birthdays, holidays, accomplishments, and life’s everyday moments. Whether offering a helping hand, words of encouragement, a laugh, or cafecito, he made those around him feel valued and loved. His greatest legacy was not found in his titles, but in the lives he touched and the love he shared so freely.
While our hearts grieve the loss of Tito’s presence, we find comfort and peace in the promises of God’s Word. As a faithful man of God, Tito lived with the assurance that one day he would be welcomed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Today, we rejoice in knowing that his faith has become sight and that he is resting in the eternal peace of the Lord he loved and faithfully served.
One of Tito’s favorite passages was Psalm 23, a reflection of the faith that carried him throughout his life: “The Lord is my shepherd.” Though we will miss his laughter, his wisdom, and the love he so freely gave, we take comfort in knowing that the Good Shepherd now leads him beside still waters and has welcomed him home.
Tito’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, devoted service, unconditional love, and steadfast commitment to his family and community. His example will continue to inspire all who knew him, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts until the day we are reunited in the presence of our Lord.
