Obituary for Hermon C. Murphy
Hermon C. Murphy, affectionately known as Bean or Beanie, age 37, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2025. Hermon was born on November 30, 1987, in Piscataway Township, New Jersey. He attended Metuchen High School. Hermon loved creating music and designing clothing. His swagger was unmatched; he loved coordinating his shoes with his hats. There was never a time when he wasn’t dressed to the nines. Hermon never met a stranger he couldn’t make smile; he had a gift for making people feel loved, respected, and valued. Wrestling and basketball were the sports he enjoyed watching with his son in his leisure time. Going to the park and spending time with his family were his favorite pastimes.
Hermon is survived by his wife, Simone; his son, Kairo; his siblings, Tasha (Rudy), Zina, Chanda, Angela, and Archie; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Hermon “Bo” and Stacey; his sibling, Rasun; and his grandparents.
A viewing for Hermon will be held on Saturday, June 28, at Banfield Funeral Home & Crematory.
We will miss him deeply, yet we rejoice in the truth that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
