Jacob Arthur Tague, age 27, passed away unexpectedly June 7, 2025. Jacob was born on August 13, 1997, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the beloved son of Jill Tague and had three siblings: sisters Miranda and Brianna, and a twin brother, Jordon.
At the age of three, Jacob moved with his family to Winter Springs, Florida, where Jill began working in the family insurance business founded by Jacob’s great-grandmother, Jean Arthur. Jacob grew up in Winter Springs and quickly became known for his vibrant, joyful spirit and his love for sports, especially baseball and basketball. He was always active, always smiling, and often on the move.
Jacob graduated from Winter Springs High School in 2015, where he was proud to be a Bear—"Go Bears!" He was well-liked by classmates and teachers alike, known for his charm, humor, and a tendency to run late, which somehow only made him more endearing. After high school, he attended Seminole State College.
Jacob later spent time in Chicago, Illinois, where he welcomed his greatest joy—his son, Zane Arthur, born in 2019. He also adored his niece, Adella, and nephew, Hunter, and was deeply devoted to his entire family.
Jacob will be remembered for his kind heart, his generous spirit, and his ability to light up a room. He was the person who always wanted to help, always ready with a smile or a word of encouragement. His presence brought joy, and his absence will leave a tremendous void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Zane Arthur; his siblings, Miranda, Brianna, and Jordon; his mother, Jill; his grandparents, Stephanie and Ron Ege; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Jacob’s family takes comfort in their faith and the knowledge that when Jacob entered Heaven, he was lovingly welcomed by his great-grandparents Jean and Corky Arthur—affectionately known as Grand-mère and Grand-père—who were waiting to greet him with open arms. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Jacob’s passing is believed to be the result of an accidental drug overdose involving a pill that contained fentanyl. His family hopes that sharing this will raise awareness about the dangers of fentanyl and other illicit substances. We encourage all parents and grandparents to talk openly with their children and grandchildren about these dangers. Awareness and conversation can help protect those we love.
