Obituary for James Curry
James (Jim) Curry, 77, of Winter Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2022.
Jim was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 20, 1944, to James and Katherine Curry. He was married to Nancy Curry on February 2, 1963, and they spent 59 happy years together.
Jim had a passion for golf, cars, and sports. He was an avid baseball and football player during his early years. As an adult, he participated in numerous varieties of softball and rough touch football leagues in the Philadelphia area.
During his career as a law enforcement officer in Philadelphia, Jim made numerous stops. This included the 39th, 15th, 24th, 4th, and 2nd districts. Going from officer, to corporal, and finally retiring as Sergeant in 1994, after a twenty-year career.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Curry; his children, James Curry, Christopher Curry, and Michael Curry; daughter-in-law Anne Curry, Amy Curry, and Keri Curry; and grandchildren, Nicole Curry Gonzalez, Taylor Curry, Brian Curry, Rachel Curry, Madison Curry, Stevie Perri, Katie Perri, and Joey Perri.
He is also survived by an extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews, and an abundance of very close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held over summer in Wildwood, New Jersey. More details about this event to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Jim requested that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
