Obituary for James Robert Coker
James Robert Coker was born January, 27 1948 in Laurens, SC and passed on in Longwood, FL on June 16, 2019 from lung disease. He was an expert welder/metal fabricator most of his life and enjoyed his work. James, who went by Robert, was a kind, jovial person who was loved by many. James was a Vietnam veteran and awarded a Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Rupert Cornelius Coker (whom died before his birth) and his mother Gladys Davis Lawson. He is survived by his partner of 17 years, Teresa Lynn Ailey of Winter Springs, Fl and her brother, David J. Wiebe, both of whom loved him dearly. Also survivors include a brother, Roger Lawson of Laurens, SC. His ex-wife Jewell Wood of Easely, SC.; their two sons, Michael Robert Coker of Jacksonville, NC and David James Coker of Easley, SC and one grandchild, Mason James Coker of Easley, SC. His remains are interred in the Coker family plot at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Ware Shoals, SC.
