Obituary for Jane C. Hanacek
Jane Carol Hanacek(nee Majka), 90 years old of Winter Spring, Florida, passed away on August 17th after a battle with cancer. She passed peacefully while surrounded by family.
Jane was born to parents Jakub and Mary Majka in Chicago, Illinois. Loving wife to late husband Joseph Andrew Hanacek. Supportive single parent to Joseph (Susan), Joyce Rosteck(Bill) and Jeff (Sharri). Cherished Grandmother to Joseph(Alex), Nicole, Austin, Jacob, Leah and Great Grandmother to Jack. Sister to Wally, Bernice, George, Minnie, Henry and Chester. Dear aunt (known as Auntie Carol) to many nieces and nephews. She had a loyal heart and was second mom to her best friend’s children.
Graduating class of 1952 at Wells High School in Chicago involved with Modern Dance. With her gift to socialize she made many friends. She enjoyed spending time with family, dancing, gardening and cooking. She was a masterful Rummy player and a great shopping buddy who helped laugh at the current fashions.
Jane was homemaker raising three children. Later in life, she worked at French Kezelis & Kominiarek law firm for several years in downtown Chicago and at Dominick’s grocery store in Des Plaines part time.
Jane was a loving and beautiful woman who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service in her honor will be held in the Chicagoland area next year, date and location to be determined.
