Jerry Romine, 79, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Dewey and Augusta Romine, born on May 9, 1946, in Knoxville, Tennessee. At a young age, his family moved to Ocala, Florida. There, Jerry attended Anthony High School and later graduated from North Marion High School with the class of 1964. A man of great work ethic, Jerry devoted 37 years to Sprint and an additional 17 years to OneBlood, building many lifelong friendships along the way. Outside of his professional life, Jerry was a man of many passions. In his youth, he found great joy in playing the drums, even joining a band. Throughout his life, he was also an avid pool player, enjoying the camaraderie and competition of the APA Pool League for over three decades. He was a dedicated car enthusiast who loved restoring cars, attending car shows, and had a passion for hot rods and burnouts.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Augusta Romine, and his brother Jim Romine. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Romine; his children, Kimberly Junnier and husband Jason, David Romine and wife Amy, Nathan Barton and wife Terri, and Rachel Perry and husband Seth. He was the proud grandfather of Joshua Junnier and wife Leigh Ann, Austin Junnier, Garret Romine, Megan Barton and Greg, Jordan Barton and Nick, Brittany Perry, Devon Perry and Isa; and great-grandson Holden; brother-in-law Robert Kinser, sister-in-law Donna Melinat and husband Carl. He also leaves behind his four-year-old German Shepherd, Lexie, who was his best friend and devoted protector.
A memorial service will be held at Banfield Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2:00pm. Services performed under the direction of Banfield Funeral Home, 420 West State Road 434, Winter Springs, FL, 32708. Reception immediately following, location to be announced.
Jerry may no longer be with us in person, but the memories remain and will continue to inspire and bring a smile to those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His life was a testimony of love, laughter, wisdom, and kindness, and he will be profoundly missed.
