Obituary for Joe Novotny
Joe Novotny, 91, passed away on Febuary 8, 2024 peacefully in his sleep.
Joe served in the Canadian Royal Airforce from 1951-1975. He was also part of the United Nations from 1962-1963 in Eygpt. While living on Vancouver Island, Joe enjoyed hunting , fishing, and family trips to the beach. He also enjoyed a challenging game of Chess. Joe lived a full life and was an amazing example of how a Christian should live.
Joe is survived by his beautiful wife, Barbara. He was a proud father of two sons and three daughters: Joseph Novotny (Linda), Roanld Novotny, Sharon Pennie (Douglas), Betty Moore (Mark), and Kerri Aquino. He was a loving Grandfather of fourteen: Heather Taylor (Chris), Michelle Rodriguez (Samuel), Christopher Moore, Jason Moore, Elisabeth Moore, Bryce Pennie (Chelsea), Jennifer Maxwell (Kyle), Amanda Novotny, Ethan Aquino, Kristian Aquino, Evan Aquino, Lili Aquino, Karolina Aquino, Kai Aquino, and eight Great-Grandchildren.
Joe was the eldest sibling of eight, Bea Small, George Novotny, Rosemary Yeryk (Victor), Lydia Culleton, Martie Exner, Roland Novotny, Jim Novotny.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Josef Novotny and Beatrice Plesnivy Novotny and one brother, Roland Novotny.
A celebration of life service will be scheduled at a future date.
