With a heavy heart, we announce, on November 11th, 2022, while surrounded by loved ones, Jose Romero Sr. went to be with our Lord. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ana Romero, his daughter Wanda Romero and his son Jose Romero Jr.
Born on July 1st, 1951, in Trujillo-Alto, Puerto Rico, to Marcelina Diaz. At the age of 17, he chose to join the Army and served his country during the Vietnam war. After his service, Jose lived in Philadelphia and was blessed with a daughter, Wanda Romero. Shortly after, he met and married Ana Romero and moved to West Chester, Pennsylvania. Once settled, he and Ana were blessed with his only son Jose Romero Jr. During the 11 years in Westchester, Jose was appointed Sheriff. After relocating to Florida, Jose became a police officer for the City of Winter Springs and remained at the Winter Springs Police Department until he retired 21 years later.
Jose Sr. was a selfless man who would sacrifice for those he loved and cherished without hesitation. He loved the simple things in life, family and friends, and enjoyed playing dominos, watching WWE, and smoking the occasional cigar. He was honored to be a United States Army Veteran, a West Chester Sheriff, and a Winter Springs Police Officer, and he wore these badges with pride and respect.
