Obituary for Joseph (Papa) Varitek
Joseph “Papa” Varitek (72) of Longwood, FL died Friday November 7, 2014 at Florida Hospital of Altamonte Springs.
He was born March 26, 1942 in Richeyville, PA to the late Frank and Anna (Shaffer) Varitek.
On August 20, 1966, he was united in marriage to Donna Mae Morosini in Detroit, MI.
They lived in Roseville and Romeo, MI giving birth to four sons.
The family moved to Longwood, FL in 1979 where he remained until his departure.
Joe was a Marine Corps Reservist, proud member of the Knights of Columbus, devoted member of the Annunciation Catholic Church, and consummate Family Man.
Papa was a devoted husband, father and loyal friend, always extended an open door, and had the gracious heart to handle all.
He will be remembered by his infectious laugh, entertaining stories and jokes, as well as his boundless commitment to family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Donna, and their four sons:
Joseph (Cheri), Jason (Catherine), Jared (Kristy), and Justin (Lynna); nine granddaughters:
Ally, Kendall, Jessica, Caroline, Lanie, Lila, Liv, Hartley, and Harper; sister Dorothy Kilar; brother Gerald; and mother-in-law Rose Morosini.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 15, at the Annunciation Catholic Church.
