Obituary for Kathleen Ann Snyder
Kathleen Ann Snyder, 69, of Winter Springs, Florida passed away on Thursday June 2, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Philip, Son and daughter-in-law Sean and Ashley Snyder of Green River, Wyoming, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Brittany Snyder, of Palm Coast, Florida, grandchildren Rozlind, Harvey, Oakley and Kellan, Brothers Pat and wife Linda of Canton, Michigan, Mike and wife Rose of Katy, Texas, sister Marlene and husband Jerry of Livonia, Michigan, and Brother and wife Jim and Trish of Canton, Michigan. She is predeceased by her parents Parnell and Irene Mullins of Detroit, Michigan. Kathleen was born and raised in Detroit and Three Rivers, Michigan. She earned her B.S. Degree in Mathematics Education from Western Michigan University in 1974, M.Ed. in Mathematics Specialization from the University of Central Florida in 1985 and Ed.D. in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University in 2009. She taught all grade levels during her thirty years as an educator. Her main emphasis was teaching gifted math at the middle school level. She served as Math department head, served on many committees during her career and earned the Teacher of the year award at Indian Trails Middle School in Winter Springs. She retired in 2015. She was a volunteer at the NICU at Winnie Palmer hospital in Orlando. One of her greatest joys was rocking babies in her arms and singing “Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.” She was also a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald house in Orlando and Lake Nona and Samaritan Resource Center in Orlando. She was tireless in her efforts to help others in need. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Stephens Catholic church and served as a Eucharistic Minister at the Church and area retirement homes. She and Phil we're pilgrims led by Fr. George Dunne to the Holy Land, Lourdes, and other holy sites throughout the world. After retirement she enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Canada with husband Phil and dog, Maggie, in a motorhome. A Vigil Service will be held on Wednesday, July 20 at Banfield Funeral Home, 420 W. State Road 434, Winter Springs, Fl. from 6 pm to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Winter Springs, Fl. on Thursday, July 21,2022 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Winnie Palmer Hospital, NICU and Ronald McDonald House of Central Florida.
