Obituary for Laura Ann Marks
Life Story
Laura Ann Marks was born July 28, 1962 in Marquette, Michigan to Hezekiah Marks and Deta marks while Mr. Marks was stationed at K. I. Sawyer, Air Force Base. She was the youngest daughter of five siblings.
Laura went to elementary, middle and high school in Rome , New York. After high school she attended Plattsburg State University in New York earning a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Later she earned a Master’s Degree in Education at Queens College in New York. Her teaching career began in the town of Carona, New York. She taught there for three years. Sometime later her family moved to Florida, where she was hired as a teacher at Stenstrom Elementary, in Oviedo. Laura had a heart for working with young children. She was a compassionate and dedicated teacher of thirty or more years.
In her spare time Laura enjoyed bowling, watching culinary tv shows and taking cooking classes. She also loved taking trips and eating at various restaurants around town with her family and friends. She always had a big smile on her face and had a great sense of humor. She brought much joy and laughter to all that knew her. She was sensitive to the needs of others and had a quiet calming spirit. Laura lived a blessed life that was filled with love, laughter and happiness.
