Obituary for Lee M. Wren

Lee Michael Wren, born December 23, 1983, died April 5, 2022 at the age of 38 in Orlando, Florida, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

That is how these things are supposed to start. It is typical, ordinary. Lee was neither. He had a gift that made anyone he was talking with or listening to feel like the most important person in the world at that moment. Lee was genuinely kind, truly compassionate, incredibly funny, smart and a wickedly good drummer. He played guitar initially, but there was only so many times we could hear the same chords from Smoke on the Water before someone suggested another instrument. And as everyone who knew him knew, his hands were constantly drumming on his chest, so it seemed the natural choice.

Lee loved music and movies. He would excitedly describe a long-anticipated movie, and could tell you everyone involved from the leading roles to the set caterer. He was a lifelong Spider-man fan with a firm belief that Andrew Garfield was the best-looking Peter Parker.

Lee loved a good fist bump, separated his Skittles and M&Ms by color before indulging, had hours long Halo adventures, he was a fountain of information, and never failed to say ‘I love you’ at the end of every conversation with his mother.

Lee is survived by his mother, Lisa Zeiher and her husband Ted, his brother Christopher, who misses Lee so very much, and Ted’s daughters Tanya and Jackie. It is not said lightly that Lee had one great love for 13 years, his cat Bulky the Moose, whom he loved wholeheartedly. She lives on with his mother Lisa and Ted. She shared in his life adventures, and she saw him through many difficult times.

If you ask his friends what they thought of Lee they would say he was the heart of the crew, gave them endless laugh out loud moments, he was genuine, a hard worker, a beautiful soul, one of a kind, and an example of who we should all strive to be.

It is for that reason special mention should be given to his friends that survive him. Once you were Lee’s friend, you were always his friend. No amount of time or distance would change that. These people were his brothers, sisters, confidants, his family. While we cannot name everyone individually, it is important to know he cared for you all. Keenan McClelland, Josh Mills, Joshua Correa and Arielle Fig, Karlton Jahmal Herman, Matt Pellegrino, Mark Pellegrino, Keiko Russell, Matt and Melanie Fox, Trea and Jennifer Maurer, Adam Thomas, Adam Rodriguez, Albert Peter, Seamus Burke, Edward Brut, Travis Vaughn, Sean Whiles, Heather Morse, David Dewitt, Kristen Mercer, Alex GoFri, Jenny Ward, Zack Czajka, Sara Wallin, Tony Moore, Alex Vargas, Chad Burke, Mew Ski, Charlie Jones, Matt Gymrek, and so many more. Talk about him. Share his stories. Let Lee live on through each of you.
