Obituary for Marie Therese Faria
Marie Therese Faria (nee: DeBarros) passed away peacefully at her home in Longwood, Florida, on October 27, 2022, at the age of 92. She was the eldest of four siblings, Eunice, Edward (deceased), and Maurice. Born and raised in Guyana where she met her husband Urban (deceased), she was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her four children: Mary Susan (Gregory), Derek Andrew (Vee), Kathryn Ann, and Urban Peter (Maria); her eight grandchildren: Rebecca, Stephen, Joshua, Rosemarie, Michelle, Francesca, Victor, and Dominique; and her five great grandchildren: Katia, Darian, Jose Jr., Maxine, and Kalista.
As a young woman she was an athletic member of a rowing club and played lawn tennis. She moved to the Orlando area in 1979 with her husband Urban where she was successful in her enterprise as an Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant.
She was loving, kindhearted and a happy, pleasant individual with lots of friends, and enjoyed entertaining others. She loved singing and dancing and cooking nutritious traditional Guyanese dishes. She maintained an address/phone book and kept in touch with all her family and friends with annual greeting cards and letters on memorable occasions. She loved her family, especially her parents, her sister and brothers, and was especially very fond of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and looked forward to their walks on the beach at Cocoa Beach.
Her younger daughter Kathy was her primary caregiver during her illness in the final years and made it possible to live out final years in her own home.
The funeral will be held at 10am Wednesday November 9, 2022, at the Annunciation Catholic Church (1020 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, Florida).
