Obituary for Mary E. Gooseman
Mary Edna Gooseman, age 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023 surrounded by family, in Casselberry, Florida. Mary Edna was born on June 25, 1935 to Lambert and Nancy Hagedorn in Wilmore, Kentucky along with siblings Dorothy Russell, John (JB) and Thomas Hagedorn.
She moved to North Canton, Ohio when she was ten years old. She graduated from North Canton High School in 1953 where she met her late Husband, Karl Gooseman. Mary Edna was a member of Mensa and enjoyed a long career as Certified Professional Secretary eventually retiring from United Airlines while living in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
Mary Edna spent a well-lived life of faith, being a member of the Altamonte Chapel. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, Jazzerise, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary Edna is survived by her three children, Barbara Carbaugh, Michael & Cindy Gooseman and Julia & Gary Harmon. Along with five granddaughters, Kristina, Ann, Mary, Chelsea & Allison and four great-grandchildren Maia, Ellie, Lucy and Noah.
A celebration of Life will be held on November 12, 2023, at the Altamonte Chapel, 825 E. Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701 at 3:00pm.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org) or Altamonte Chapel (altamontechapel.com) in her memory.
Mary Edna will be reunited and laid to rest with her husband, Karl Gooseman, at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton, Ohio.
