Obituary for Mary “Eileen” Ryan
Mary "Eileen" Ryan, 94, of Winter Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024, surrounded by her family. Eileen was born on April 7, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Robert and Mary (Farrell) Bogart. Her kind and gentle heart and her natural gift for caregiving served her well as a trained nurse and devoted mother and grandmother. She raised her family in Rockville Centre, NY before moving to Winter Springs, FL 33 years ago. Eileen was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of St. Stephen Catholic Community in Winter Springs. Her dedication to caring for those in need did not end with her nursing career as she was a frequent and reliable church volunteer and beloved neighbor, frequently encouraging young nurses and mothers. She loved to travel for family vacations, especially to Hawaii, and she adored a good round of BINGO (even when she didn’t win). But her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Eileen is survived by her three loving children, John Ryan and his wife Eileen, Maureen Costello, and Kevin Ryan and his wife Frances, seven cherished grandchildren, John (Eddie), Colleen Mary (Doug), Megan (Gerardo), Colleen Elizabeth, Erin, Sophia, and Grace, her dear sister, Ann Gallagher, and by many other loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Ryan in 2016, and her brothers, Robert and James Bogart.
