Obituary for Maryann Teske Shilland
Maryann Teske Shilland, 77, died peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, April 25, 2018, in Geneva, Florida. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.
Maryann was born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1940. She married Lester Raymond Barker in 1956, and soon became a doting mother to her two children, Leslianne and Raymond. Her and her family came to Florida in the late 60’s from New Jersey.
Maryann attended Rutgers University in New Jersey for Secretarial School and was a bookkeeper of various trades for over 30 years. She was a woman of many wonders, including residing in Ethiopia in 1980 with her second husband, David H. Shilland, and later operating their business as Ranchers in Malabar, FL. She retired to Casselberry, FL in 2012, where she enjoyed visiting with family and making new friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Leslianne of Geneva, FL; son, Raymond of DeBary; step-daughter, Gail of Battleground, WA; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Julius Teske (and family) of Vero Beach, FL; and the many timeless memories that have been shared by all.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Banfield Funeral Home, Winter Springs, FL.
