It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Chmura, a remarkable man whose spirit touched the lives of so many. Mike was not just a husband, father, and friend; he was a beacon of love, laughter, and joy. His infectious humor and sharp wit brightened every room, making those around him feel special and cherished.
Mike had an unwavering passion for celebrating life's victories, both big and small. His love for his wife, Marlene, and his children was boundless. He cherished every moment spent with his family, nurturing them with his love and support. Mike was a proud father to Drew, Adam, Erik, Sarah, and Staci, and he eagerly anticipated the arrival of his sweet granddaughter.
A man of many passions, Mike found joy in music/concerts, fly fishing, savoring cigars, and enjoying good bourbon. He was a huge fan of college football and NHL hockey, loved his volunteer work for the Arnold Palmer golf tournaments, and his love for nature reflected his appreciation for the beauty of life. To know Mike was to experience love and kindness in its purest form.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene Chmura, his five children: Drew Chmura (Natalia), Adam Chmura (Jackie), Erik Chmura, Sarah Soucy (Chris), and Staci Whitton (John). He also leaves behind his cherished sisters and brother-in-law: Ginny Spenner, Barbara Langlois (Richard) and Maggie Carlson; a loving network of nieces/nephews, great-nieces/nephews; and an incredible group of Fraternity Brothers who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Ruth Chmura, and his brother, Phillip Chmura.
As we remember Mike, let us celebrate the joy and love he brought into our lives. May his spirit continue to inspire us to live fully, love deeply, and cherish every moment. He will be missed beyond words.
