Obituary for Michael Joseph Baraniak
Michael Joseph Baraniak passed from this life on January 11, 2017. Mike met each day with a quick wit, a brilliant intellect, and a bright smile. And in the end days, Mike taught us all about courage beyond measure. While we may long to have him with us still, he lives on in our hearts and minds. Mike was born in Somerset, Pennsylvania, on September 8, 1948. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was deeply devoted to his faith and to St. Stephen Catholic Church. He particularly appreciated Father John’s input, guidance, and humor.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; sons, Greg {Jana} and Phillip {Courtney}; daughter, Loretta; grandchildren, Ayden and Maddie, brother Alan {Linda}; nephews, Andrew and Doug; and many cousins, nephews and nieces. Services will be Monday, January 16, 2017, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 575 Tuskawilla Road, Winter Springs, FL 32708. A viewing will be 9:00 to 10:30, Mass at 11:00, Luncheon after Mass, Burial at Longwood Cemetery.
