Obituary for Patricia A. Blaszczak
Patricia Anna Blaszczak (nee’ Kozlowska) was born on May 19, 1935 to parents Joseph and Melania Kozlowski in Schenectady, New York.
Patricia graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and worked as a draftsman at the General Electric Company where she met, and later married, her husband Thaddeus Blaszczak. Pat and Ted were a young, fun-loving couple and often made weekend trips to New York City and could be found at famous night clubs such as Charlie Parker’s Birdland. Even after marrying and while raising three children, Patricia never lost her sense of adventure. She learned to drive, golf, upholster, remodel, and renovate. She was also a great cook, seamstress and hostess.
Patricia and her husband traveled throughout the United States and the world, living for a time in both Japan and Poland. After returning from Japan, the couple settled for a time in Monroeville, Pennsylvania where Patricia obtained an associates degree in Fine Arts.
Once the children had left home to make their own lives, Patricia and Ted moved, one last time, to Winter Springs, Florida. Patricia took up quilting and gardening and worked part-time at the local YMCA. She also traveled and cruised as much as she could.
Patricia also joined the St. Stephen Catholic Community Crafts and Knitting groups. She very much enjoyed working with “her ladies” for the benefit of various church programs.
Patricia passed away early on March 6, 2021 having lived a long and full life. She is survived by daughter Deborah Hartline and son Michael (+Elizabeth) Blaszczak.
