Obituary for Patrick Crisp Whitaker, III
Patrick Crisp Whitaker III, beloved brother, father, grandfather, and husband passed away peacefully at his home in Longwood, Florida surrounded by his wife and children on April 7th, 2022, age 73. Pat was born June 16th, 1948 in Tampa, Florida. He graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Law School and was sworn into the Florida State Bar in 1974. He was an Assistant State Attorney for 35 years and considered it an honor to serve in the fight for justice. Pat loved God deeply, was unwavering in his devotion to family, and was a steadfast and loyal friend. He enjoyed a great game of golf, RVing throughout the country with his wife, hiking in the North Georgia mountains, and treasured every moment with his grandchildren. Pat is remembered by many as a man of deep faith and gentle, wise council. He will be greatly missed.
Pat is preceded in death by his mother Jeanne Gillan, 2006, and his father Pat Whitaker, 1997. He is survived by his wife Cindy of 46 years, his children; Chris Whitaker Lake Mary, Fl, (wife Bonnie), Joseph Whitaker, Athens, Ga, (wife Laura), Ashley Whitaker, Deltona, FL and 8 grandchildren and sister Sharon Reynolds of Homosassa, Fl, (husband Ron).
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Pat’s name be made to Extra Special People, https://espyouandme.org/memorial, a non-profit that serves children and adults with disabilities, led by his daughter in-law Laura.
