Obituary for Philip (Jim) Streeter
Philip (Jim) Streeter
Jim Streeter, 53, of Oviedo, FL. (formerly Dracut, MA) was called home to God on September 6th, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Tara (Hill) Streeter, with whom he was married for 22 years. Jim was born to Philip and Phyllis Streeter of Kingston, NH on August 3rd, 1966. He graduated from Sanborn Regional High School in 1984, attended Daniel Webster College and then Flight School. Jim worked as a Contractor for many years with his most recent position as a Supervisor for Lecesse Construction based in Rochester NY.
Jim’s childhood memories include his summers in Vermont and enjoying the Mitchell’s Farm with best friends in Kingston, NH. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and camping with friends and family. His most cherished moments were spending time with his wife and children, coaching their sports teams and cheering them on at their games and dance competitions. Quality family time was his priority. Game and movie nights, Disney World, Cruising and touring Italy will always hold the best memories. Jim was a skilled craftsman, a great cook, excelled in trivia on all subjects and made the best martinis. Finally, he wore these hats so proudly, FSU Dad & USNA Dad!
Besides his wife Tara, he is survived by his loving children, Allison and Jack Streeter, both of Oviedo, FL. He is also survived by his brother Paul and wife Sherry of Danville NH, sister Pam and husband Don Sharrio of Sandown NH. He was the Son in-law of Thomas Hill of Hampton, NH and Christine Hill of Dracut, MA. Jim was a brother-in-law to Ronald and Colleen Monbleau, Michael and Laurie Miamis and Thomas and Brenda Hill all of Dracut as well as Christine Hill of Hudson NH. He will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews, a special Godchild, Celia Bowers, as well as many close friends.
A Service will be held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Community in Winter Springs , FL on Friday, Sept 13, 2019 at 11am. An additional Service will be held at St. Francis Church in Dracut, MA on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to “pay it forward” and assist a family suffering from terminal cancer whether it be meals, home repairs, transportation, monetary etc. This gesture in Jim’s Memory will make a world of difference in someone’s life.
