PORTIA FAY MCGUIRE, 92, former Hayesville resident

Portia F (Helvie) McGuire, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 surrounded by family.
She was born in Cleveland, lived in Ashland, and Hayesville before moving to Florida in 1977.
Portia was a beautician and owned the Beauty Chateau in Hayesville for many years. She spent many years teaching Sunday School as a member of the Hayesville United Methodist Church. Upon moving to Florida, Portia and her husband Clayton, operated King’s Corner in Palm Beach Gardens. She was a member of Victorious Life Church in Wesley Chapel before moving to the Orlando area.
Portia is survived by a son, Joel McGuire, daughters, Melinda Sawyer and Patricia Thompson, sister-in-law, Maxine Stafford, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Clayton, as well as their daughter, Beth Ann.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. Final resting place will be in the Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville, OH.
