Obituary for Richard Lee Miller
Richard Miller, beloved husband, father and papa, died at his home in Sanford, Florida at the age of 88 on July 15, 2023 after a brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Anderson, Indiana and after graduating from college, moved with his wife Carolyn to Wayne, Michigan. While in Michigan, he was a cross country and track coach as well as a physical education teacher and then a high school guidance counselor. Richard earned a Master’s Degree while in Michigan and was also a Master Mason at Mount Moriah Lodge No. 77 in Anderson, Indiana, He also attended Masonic meetings and functions while living in Michigan and Florida. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling with his family and friends. Richard leaves behind the love of his life for 69 years, Carolyn Miller, his daughter, Cindy Arvai, grandchildren Jason Miller (Nicole), Charlie Arvai, Krisztina Feltner (Michael) and great-grandchildren Alexa, Kadyn, Jacqueline, Brooklynn and Adalynn. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Mildred Miller of Anderson, Indiana. He had a family motto which was passed on from his father Virgil which we will all continue to live by: “Keep On Keep’n On!”
A celebration of life will be held July 29, 2023 at 11:00 at the Volusia Masonic Lodge 77 located at 210 FL-40, Pierson, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the lodge.
