Rick Nowacki’s life held both brightness and struggle, and those who loved him remember him best in the moments when his light shone freely.
As a young man, Rick was playful and imaginative, full of creative thought and quiet wonder. He wrote songs—offerings from a sensitive heart—and moved through his early years with a sense of ease and joy. He shared especially happy times with his siblings, and his closeness with his brother Jim remains a cherished memory.
Life later asked more of Rick than his tender nature could easily bear. He struggled with addiction, finding relief and clarity for a time in sobriety, where he held close a belief in a higher power, even if not within formal religion. His journey was not a simple one, and the world could be heavy for someone with his depth of feeling.
Rick loved his family deeply. He cared for his siblings—John, Betty, George, Patricia, and Jim—and held great affection for his many nieces and nephews, delighting in them and loving them fully. He shared his life with partners along the way and has a grown son who carries forward a part of him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rose and George Nowacki, and siblings John, George and Patricia. Those who knew him remember a man whose early joy, creativity, and gentleness mattered—and still matter.
May Rick now rest where struggle loosens its hold, and where the sensitive heart he carried is finally at ease.
