In Loving Memory of Richard Thomas Keliher
Richard Thomas Keliher, age 77, of Altamonte Springs, passed away on December 4, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 26, 1946, to Evelyn and John Keliher in Brooklyn, New York, Richard's journey was marked by resilience, love, and unwavering commitment to his family.
After graduating from Hicksville High School in 1964, Richard enlisted in the Air Force in 1965. Upon leaving the Air Force he soon started a lifelong career as a skilled sheet metal mechanic, leaving an indelible mark on the industry through his craftsmanship and work ethic.
During a brief leave in 1965, fate intervened as Richard crossed paths with Jeanne at the Tigers Tail. Their union blossomed into a beautiful family, and together they raised three children – John, Tim, and Shannon. Richard found immense joy and fulfillment in the love and laughter of his nine grandchildren – Ryan, Brandon, Kaylee, Liam, Connor, Caitlin, Thomas, Sean, and Emily.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn, Richard is survived by his sister, Eileen, his beloved wife, Jeanne, and their cherished children and grandchildren. Richard's legacy is one of profound commitment to family, exemplifying the role of a devoted caregiver to his wife Jeanne.
A man of quiet strength, Richard approached life with diligence and unwavering support for his family. Whether cheering on his favored college sports teams or finding solace in the simple pleasures of a cold beer, Richards most cherished moments are those he spent with his family.
Richard's enduring impact is etched into the hearts of those fortunate enough to share in his journey. His love, hard work, and dedication continue to inspire and resonate, creating a legacy that his family is forever grateful for.
As we bid farewell to Richie, we celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
Mass will be held at St. Stephens Catholic Community in Winter Springs FL on Dec 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. A burial with military honors will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
