Obituary for Rita C. Crews
Rita Caroline Crews passed away on July 13, 2024, in Longwood, Florida. She was 92. Rita was born in Washington, DC, in 1931 to Frank and Fannie Pittiglio. Following her marriage to Jesse Crews, she lived in Hyattsville, MD and eventually moved to Sanford, Florida, and later, to Winter Springs. Rita is remembered for her generous and giving nature and her devotion to family. She was an excellent and adventurous cook who further expressed her creative spirit through oil painting, cake decorating and crafts. A devout Christian, she spent many years teaching Sunday School and volunteering for Vacation Bible School. Rita is survived by her children Steve, Rob (Diane) and Christine, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Jesse. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
