Obituary for Robert “Bob” P. Morris
Robert (Bob) P. Morris, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in Hospice care on August 24, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 82 years old. Born on January 27, 1943, in Glens Falls, New York, Bob lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to those he cared about most. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he carried with him the values of honor, discipline, and strength that shaped the rest of his life, and later went on to work many years in marketing for various insurance companies and finally dedicating several year’s of service working for the United States Postal Service. For 46 years, Bob shared his life with his wife and best friend, Dianne Morris. Their marriage was a true partnership, built on love, commitment, and family. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and traditions that will carry on for generations. Bob loved the ocean. The beach was his peaceful retreat, saltwater fishing and boating was one of his greatest joys. He was also a man who appreciated life’s little pleasures—especially his nightly routine of a sweet treat before bed. More often than not, that meant a big bowl of ice cream, piled high with extra whipped cream, though he never turned down any dessert that satisfied his sweet tooth. To his grandchildren, he was simply “Papa.” He had a gift for making ordinary moments special, whether it was sharing stories, or offering guidance with his steady voice, And anyone who knew Bob knew his trademark “Yo!”—a call used with family always meaning the same thing: knock it off. That one word, spoken with his unmistakable tone, will be remembered with a smile by all who loved him. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Dianne Morris; his six children: Lisa (Mark) Jacobs, Kara Darling, Jason Morris, Mary Schrepel, John and Christopher Morris; his seven grandchildren: Jordan (Bethany) Briseno, Joey (Kaylee) Briseno, Josh (Laura) Briseno, Jodi Jacobs, Callie Morris, Bowen Darling, and Reid Darling; as well as four great-grandchildren: Wesley, Charlotte, Sophie, and Luka Briseno. Bob will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on—in every laugh shared, every Jimmy Buffet song that plays on the radio, every sunset at the beach, and every bowl of ice cream enjoyed in his honor
