Obituary for Robert Charles Mattingly
Robert "Bob" Charles Mattingly passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Oviedo, Florida at the age of 64.
Bob was born on February 11, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert and Rosemarie (Oliver) Mattingly. He graduated from Southwest High School, and went on to join the Air Force. He spent 3 years stationed in Germany, followed by one year in Florida. During this time he was educated in what would later become his trade: air conditioning. Along with his business partner, Wes Ruggles, he owned and operated Sunshine Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. for 37 years in Orlando.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob spent many hours fishing, camping, and boating. He was looking forward to spending his retirement sailing around the Caribbean.
Bob was a hard worker and a devoted father and grandfather. He treasured his time with his friends. Ever curious, Bob never stopped reading and learning.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Jessica (Austin) Wooley and Monica (Ryan) Yeo, his grandsons Renner and Rivers Yeo, his parents Robert and Rosemarie Mattingly, brother Richard (Patricia) Mattingly, along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Lena Oliver, and Virgil Mattingly and Laura Knedel.
A memorial service will be held at Banfield Funeral Home (420 West State Road 434, Winter Springs, FL) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 with Pastor Mike Rhynus officiating.
