Obituary for S. Bruce Herbin
On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, S. Bruce Herbin, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at age 69.
Bruce was born on July 1, 1950 in New York City to Benjamin and Norma Herbin. From a young age, Bruce demonstrated the curiosity that would eventually lead to a successful engineering career, taking apart any object he could find to learn firsthand how it worked. He was a talented mechanical, electrical and aeronautical engineer who served as a military and defense department contractor for the United States and its allies abroad.
On October 23, 1976, Bruce married Mary Ann Wilantowicz of Yonkers, NY, and together they raised one son, Daniel, and two daughters, Lauren and Lindsay. In 1990, the Herbin family moved from Dobbs Ferry, NY to Winter Springs, FL.
Bruce was known for his sarcastic wit, the “Herbin humor”; his cooking skills; and his unconditional love for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; their three children, Daniel (Nicole), Lauren (Eddie) and Lindsay (Michael); their grandchildren, Benjamin, Henry, Madeline and Jacob; his brothers, Richard, David and Gerald; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Banfield Funeral Home and Crematory in Winter Springs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halifax Health - Hospice. https://www.halifaxhealth.org/services-treatments/our-services/hospice-care/giving/donation-portal
